This travel insurance policy covers you for travel provided the trip destination(s) are not in countries or specific areas the British FCO have advised against all or all but essential travel to.

In addition to covering medical emergency treatment overseas due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), the cancellation cover will reimburse any irrecoverable payments and charges made for travel and accommodation if you have to cancel your trip due to a doctor diagnosing either you, a close relative or your insured travelling companion with Coronavirus (COVID-19) and as a result being advised not to travel.

The cover includes cancellation due to either you or your insured travelling companion�s direct exposure to a contagious disease such as Coronavirus (COVID-19), resulting in an order via the treating doctor or the NHS Test and Trace programme for you to be medically quarantined and not being able to travel.

Please note there is no cover under this policy if there are any local or countrywide lockdowns resulting in you being unable to travel. There is also no cover should the British FCO advice change and subsequently advises against travel either from the UK or to the trip destination as this potentially falls under the responsibility of your tour operator under the 2018 (UK) Package Travel Regulations and/or your airline under EU/261.
